Finish a run in Seoul, open your phone, and find a fish swimming across the map.
Instead of photographing a scene, you have drawn a small picture of the city with your footsteps.
That is the idea behind Seoul Edition 25 Art Run, with routes around Seoul Forest, Maeheon Citizens’ Forest and Noryangjin Fisheries Wholesale Market.
The city’s announcement on 21 October 2026 introduced three shapes: a slice of bread, a slice of pizza and a fish.
A completion-record event, which began on 14 October, runs until 31 October.
For visitors who enjoy running, it offers a way to make exercise part of the journey rather than something squeezed in around it.
A neighbourhood, recorded one turn at a time
GPS art running uses an activity-tracking app to turn a planned route into a recognisable outline.
Alongside the usual distance and pace figures, your finished record reveals a picture.
You do not draw it on the screen: the line follows the streets and paths you actually take.
That makes paying attention to the route just as important as moving quickly.
A turn taken for the sake of the picture may reveal a connection between streets that you would otherwise have missed.
It invites a different rhythm from visiting one landmark and immediately rushing to the next.
Seoul Edition 25 introduces places that express the character of the city’s individual districts.
The Art Run routes extend that idea, encouraging people to get to know an area through movement.
This helps explain why the official introduction pairs running with bakeries, exhibitions, seafood and picnics.
The food-themed names do not, however, mean a meal or snack is included.
How you combine the route with nearby stops depends on your time, interests and budget.
The GPS drawing becomes a small souvenir, while the places you pause give the day its substance.
A trip does not have to be remembered only through shopping bags and landmark photographs.
If you have visited Seoul before, this may offer a different way into a familiar city.
For a first visit, choosing one route near your accommodation is more practical than trying to collect all three.
Bread Run: a gentle starting point around Seoul Forest
The Bread Run around Seoul Forest is the shortest of the three routes.
The official distance is 1.4 kilometres, with an estimated running time of about nine minutes.
Nine minutes is neither a target everyone must meet nor a guaranteed journey time.
Crossings, navigation and photographs will change how long your outing takes.
If running is not part of your usual routine, pay more attention to your comfort and other path users than to that estimate.
Completing the bread-shaped outline is the playful part, but understanding the route comes first.
Arriving at the park and running in any direction will not produce the same picture.
Check where the official starting point sits in relation to your arrival location to avoid unnecessary backtracking.
A bakery stop afterwards can turn a short run into an unhurried break.
Opening hours and the day’s selection will vary between individual shops.
D Museum, included in the city’s introduction, offers another possibility for visitors interested in culture.
Check which exhibition is showing on your visit date and what admission arrangements apply.
Completing an Art Run does not by itself include or discount museum admission.
A short run, something from a bakery and an exhibition that interests you can make a comfortably paced half-day.
The advantage of a short route is the time it leaves afterwards, rather than how much else you can squeeze in.

Fish Run: two kilometres with a market at the heart of the story
The Fish Run traces its outline around Noryangjin Fisheries Wholesale Market.
Its official distance is two kilometres, with an estimated running time of about 15 minutes.
The connection between the fish shape and the market makes the route easy to remember.
It is also worth remembering that a working market and a park are different environments.
Where pedestrians and vehicles meet, the conditions in front of you matter more than the shape on your screen.
If you need to check your phone, stop somewhere that leaves other people room to pass.
A route line does not grant permission to enter a shop’s working area or cross restricted premises.
If the downloaded route conflicts with signs or temporary controls, follow the on-site instructions.
Afterwards, give yourself time to look around before deciding what to eat.
Understanding the seafood, quantities, preparation and dining arrangements makes ordering easier.
Do not assume a displayed ingredient price is necessarily the entire cost of a finished meal.
Ask whether preparation or table-setting charges are separate and what the final payment covers.
Visitors who prefer cooked food can ask about suitable dishes before choosing ingredients.
If you have an allergy, discuss the ingredients and preparation rather than relying only on a dish’s name.
A meal can be a pleasant finish to the run without becoming a decision made in a hurry.

Pizza Run: a longer outing around Maeheon Citizens’ Forest
The Pizza Run covers six kilometres around Maeheon Citizens’ Forest, making it the longest of the three.
The city’s estimated running time is about 36 minutes.
It requires a different level of effort from the short Bread Run.
Choose it with both your usual running distance and the rest of your day’s plans in mind.
A morning already spent walking between attractions should count towards that decision.
Thinking ahead about rest stops or shortening your outing can make the experience more comfortable.
Looking after your energy matters more than finishing a perfect outline.
The pizza name describes the shape; it does not require a meal at a particular restaurant.
If you plan a picnic afterwards, think about seating and clearing up as well as food.
Check park rules and local signs when choosing where to eat.
The city’s Art Run announcement also mentions autumn programming for the Seoul International Garden Show alongside Maeheon Citizens’ Forest.
Those autumn events are listed for 1–27 October, a different period from the Art Run completion event.
Visitors arriving from 28 October should not assume the Garden Show’s autumn programme is still running.
The route, the park and a seasonal event each have their own arrangements.
Keeping the run at the centre of the plan and leaving the surrounding hours flexible makes a longer outing easier to enjoy.

Before the app: understand the route and the start
Installing a running app does not automatically create a GPS picture.
The app records your movement; the route information tells you where to go.
The participation notice directs runners to Cltoo’s Instagram account and the event application page for GPX route information.
GPX is a file format for location data that can be used to inspect a route.
Not every activity app imports GPX files or provides navigation in the same way.
Deciding separately how you will record the run and how you will check the route avoids confusion on arrival.
First establish whether your current location is actually the designated starting point.
Recording your approach to the start may add an unwanted line to the finished picture.
Treat getting to the start and starting the recording as two separate steps.
Check your phone’s location permissions and battery before setting off.
Saving the relevant instructions in advance can help if your travel data connection is unreliable.
Buildings and trees can sometimes affect how closely the recorded line follows your actual movements.
An uneven outline is no reason to repeat a risky section merely to improve the picture.
Traffic signals and other people’s right of way take priority over the screen.
The official route illustration helps with planning, but it cannot replace current information about closures or access.
The completion event: enjoying a route is different from entering a draw
The advertised completion-record event runs from 14 to 31 October 2026.
Its steps include checking the course, recording your completed run, posting on Instagram and submitting an application.
The notice asks participants to use the Seoul Edition 25 hashtag.
The submitted record must show the entire GPS route.
It also says eligible records must resemble the designated course.
Strava, Garmin and Nike Run Club are listed as examples of recording apps.
These names are examples, not a guarantee that every feature or device is supported.
Prizes are awarded by a draw rather than given to every person who finishes.
Most importantly for international readers, the detailed event listing identifies the target participants as Seoul residents.
Short-term foreign visitors should therefore not assume they qualify for the prize event.
Foreign residents of Seoul should also check any specific residency or contact requirements with the organiser.
Exploring the neighbourhood along a route and applying for the promotional draw are separate decisions.
Anyone entering should read the latest conditions and information requests on the submission page.
After the event ends, the route information may still provide an outing idea, but the prize offer does not automatically continue.
Before using a route later, check current local conditions and any updated instructions.
Choose by the day you want to have
The Bread Run is worth considering if you want a shorter start with bakeries or an exhibition afterwards.
The Fish Run may suit a day built around exploring a market and choosing a meal.
The Pizza Run is an option if you want more running time and six kilometres is comfortable for you.
Completing all three does not automatically make a better trip.
Travelling between different neighbourhoods takes time too.
A route’s apparent proximity on a map does not include finding its starting point or getting home afterwards.
Choosing one course and keeping food and rest nearby reduces time spent in transit.
If you are going alone, save your arrival location and return transport plan before starting the recording.
With friends, it is usually more enjoyable to match the person who needs the most time rather than the fastest runner.
If your group includes both walkers and runners, agree how you will complete the outing and where you will meet.
Do not assume a walking record qualifies for the prize draw without checking the relevant conditions.
Allow time for photographs separately from the official running estimate.
Leave a buffer before any exhibition or restaurant reservation.
Changing the plan because of fatigue or heavy rain is part of sensible travel planning.
An enjoyable day that leaves you comfortable tomorrow is more valuable than an impressive record achieved at the cost of the rest of your trip.

Pack lightly, but prepare specifically
You do not need an entirely new running outfit, although comfortable clothing helps.
Choose shoes your feet already know rather than a pair selected only for photographs.
Even in autumn, running and sitting afterwards can feel quite different.
A light extra layer may be useful for the journey home or a meal.
Keep your phone, transport card and payment method somewhere secure and comfortable while moving.
Large shopping bags make both running and making room for other people awkward.
Putting shopping after the route is a simple way to avoid that problem.
Plan water and rest around the weather, distance and your own needs.
If your outing depends on luggage storage, check the actual location and opening arrangements first.
We have not confirmed dedicated changing rooms or storage lockers as part of these three Art Run courses.
A manageable bag is more useful than a plan that assumes facilities will be available.
Sharing a record can be enjoyable without revealing your accommodation or movements in real time.
Before posting a GPS image, check whether it also includes private journeys outside the course.
Respect people’s wishes and local rules when photographing faces or working spaces.
Once prepared, leave room to notice the street and the people around you instead of following only the screen.
The hours after the run make it a trip
After the Bread Run, allow choosing something at a bakery to be part of the outing.
If you add an exhibition, consider whether your clothes and belongings will be comfortable for a museum visit.
After the Fish Run, there is no need to decide on a meal before you have looked around the market.
Checking portions and preparation makes unfamiliar dishes easier to approach.
After the Pizza Run, a period of rest may be more rewarding than immediately travelling to another attraction.
For a picnic, clearing away everything you brought belongs in the plan too.
Separate transport, meals, admission and optional shopping when estimating the day’s cost.
Places mentioned in the same itinerary do not form a single bundled product.
Their booking, payment and cancellation conditions may differ.
Changing a run because of the weather does not automatically change a restaurant’s or exhibition’s reservation terms.
Understanding these distinctions makes it easier to adjust one part of the day without upsetting the whole plan.
Keeping an exercise record and enjoying a good meal can fit comfortably together.
Neither a target time nor a dining reservation is a reason to ignore a crossing signal.
The practical appeal is being able to set the city’s new idea to your own pace.
One picture remains on the map, but the day is shaped by what happens between its lines.

Six checks before setting off
First, choose a distance that fits: Bread Run at 1.4 kilometres, Fish Run at two, or Pizza Run at six.
Second, check the official course and starting location, then test your recording app.
Third, distinguish the completion event’s 31 October deadline from the closing dates of related programmes.
Fourth, if you want to enter the draw, check the Seoul-resident eligibility listing and current application conditions.
Fifth, verify opening hours, prices and booking requirements separately for each food or cultural stop.
Sixth, give priority to traffic signals and pedestrians, and change your route or plans when necessary.
With those decisions made, the enjoyable question is quite simple.
What would you like to draw, and how would you like to spend the time afterwards?
Bread suggests a short beginning, fish a market visit, and pizza a longer run followed by a rest.
Those associations are invitations rather than instructions you have to follow.
Matching the idea to your fitness and interests makes it easier to enjoy.
Seoul does not have to be remembered only through a major concert venue or a high observation deck.
Finding your way, waiting at a crossing and stopping in one neighbourhood are part of travelling too.
Art Run adds a small, distinctive shape to those ordinary movements.
Dates were checked on 26 October 2026; look for updated notices and follow local instructions before setting off.
These photographs show the locations when they were taken. They do not document the current event or its exact route.
A little closer to Korea.
